STEM Outreach
David has been passionate about science communication and education since school, having been lucky enough to study with inspirational teachers. Since the age of 18, he has been a STEM Ambassador, regularly visiting schools to give talks and workshops about geology, and science in general.

Royal Society Coastal Geomorphology
Since 2022, David has been Lead STEM Partner on an ongoing research project, funded by the Royal Society, in collaboration with students from King Edward VI Grammar School, Louth, Lincolnshire. The project uses aerial photogrammetric methods and coastal surveying techniques to assess the impact of storm events on coastal resilience.

David's key contributions to the project have been the standardisation of scientific samples taken to ensure a robust study, and the implementation of drone pilot training for all eligible students. David also engaged various local stakeholders to take an interest in the project, including Orsted, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, and the Environment Agency.

The team have been invited to present at the Society's annual conferences for the last 3 years, and are expecting to publish their work in the near future.
